GRANVILLE, Ohio--  In a battle of two nationally ranked squads, The College of Wooster came away with a convincing 19-3 win over Denison on Wednesday night at Big Red Field.  The Fighting Scots checked into the game ranked 10th in the latest Division III Top-25.  At 19-6, DU was ranked 25th.

The Big Red held a 3-2 lead after the second inning but a nine-run third inning blew the game wide open for the Fighting Scots.

Denison's Nick Pettigrew went 1-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs.  Sam Frazen and Jake Ryder were both 1-for-3 with runs scored.  Tanner Johnson had one of DU extra-base hits thanks to a triple in the first that scored Evan Flax.

Cody Mauri suffered the loss out of the bullpen.  He drops to 4-1 on the year.  Wooster's Michael Houdek got the win, pitching the final five innings in relief.  He improved to 5-2.  Wooster moved to 22-5 on the year while the Big Red drops to 19-7.

Denison will hit the road on Thursday for a 4 p.m. game in New Concord, Ohio against Muskingum University.
