GRANVILLE, Ohio--  The Denison baseball regular season came to a close by winning two out of three against Allegheny College.  Denison dropped game two, 7-6 after it was suspended in the fifth inning due to rain on Saturday.  In the rubber match, Denison's Noah Hahn sent the Denison faithful home happy with a walk-off single in the 11th inning for the 9-8 victory.

Denison advances to the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament in Chillicothe, Ohio with a 29-10 record and a No. 24 national ranking.  They will learn their opponent in the tournament on Monday night after the conclusion of regular season conference play.

In game three of the series, Denison took a 6-1 lead after scoring four in the second thanks to RBI hits by Grady Paine, Joseph Maydwell, Matt Bonollo and Eric Zmuda

The Gators chipped away, scoring two in the fifth, two in the sixth and three in the seventh.  Denison's Mikey Rivera took the hill in the seventh and he proved to be the stabilizing force that was needed.  He pitched the final five innings, allowing one run on five hits with four strikeouts.  He got the win after Hahn's game-winner that scored Zmuda.

Brian McAuliffe led DU at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a walk and one run scored.  Paine was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored.  Phil Papaioannou drove in two runs and Hahn was 2-for-4 with a run scored and the game-winning RBI.

Allegheny catcher Bolt Seymour was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored.  The loss was charged to Sean Kealey who allowed the leadoff double to Zmuda that resulted in the winning run after Hahn's single.

In the opening game of the day, DU trailed 3-0 when play commenced in the top of the fifth inning.  The Big Red scored four in the bottom of the fifth to take a 4-3 lead.  Maydwell's double scored Evan Flax and a sacrifice fly by Jack Blanchard plated Paine.  A two-run double by Hahn capped off the big inning for Denison.

In the top of the ninth, Allegheny broke a 5-5 tie with runs off a wild pitch and a RBI single by Seah Beaumont.  Denison had the go-ahead run at the plate in the bottom of the ninth but Jarod Deagan worked out of the jam to earn the win.

Allegheny's season ends with a record of 23-16.  For Denison, 29 wins are two shy of the school record set in 2003 and 2004.  It is the most wins in a single-season under fifth-year head coach Mike Deegan.
