CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ohio—Wabash sophomore tailback Ike James rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns as the 2st ranked Little Giants handed Denison a 28-7 loss at Hollett Little Giant Stadium.

With the score tied 7-7 at halftime, Wabash stuck to the ground in the second half.  On their second possession of the third quarter, James capped off a 9-play 49-yard drive with a 4-yard touchdown run that gave Wabash a 14-7 lead with 7:09 left in the third.

In the third quarter the Denison offense did not record a third down and with 4:59 remaining, James broke into the Big Red secondary with a 29-yard touchdown run.  Suddenly, Wabash had a two-touchdown lead and increasingly bad field position after a 9-play drive by Wabash ended with a 28-yard punt that pinned the Big Red on their own 10-yard line.

A 12-yard rush by Alex Minton got Denison out of the shadows of their own end zone.  Facing 4th-and-2 from their 18, Denison was forced to punt for the fourth straight possession.  This time, Denison's David Weimar booted it 59-yards to the Wabash 23-yard line. Tack on a 10-yard penalty and DU finally succeeded in flipping the field.  Trailing 21-7 with 10:20 to play, the Big Red needed a quick stop.  On 3rd-and-2, James scampered 67-yards all the way to the Denison 7-yard line.  The backbreaking run by James led to Weston Murphy's 2-yard touchdown that set the final at 28-7.

Wabash outgained Denison 325-254 while controlling the clock 33-27.  Alex Minton led Denison with 16 carries for 77 yards.  He scored Denison's lone touchdown on an 8-yard run in the second quarter that capped off a 15-play 81-yard drive.

Canaan Gebele was 12-for-20 for 103 yards. He also carried the ball nine times for 33 yards.  His favorite target was H-Back C.J. Davis who caught four passes for 46 yards.  On defense, Ryan Zinkula finished with 13 tackles and Brice Winans tallied 12.

James toted the ball 22 times for 158 yards and three scores.  Isaac Avant followed with 14 carries for 42 yards.  Murphy was 6-of-13 for 61 yards passing.

Wabash improves to 5-0 while Denison drops to 3-2.  The Big Red will look to rebound next Saturday, Oct. 14, when they host DePauw University at 1 p.m.
