RICHMOND, Ind. – Thanks to a goal from freshman Charlotte Godfrey in the 66th minute, Denison field hockey traveled to Richmond, Indiana on Wednesday afternoon and defeated Earlham College, 1-0.

The Big Red outshot the Quakers 9-1 in the first half but were unable to capitalize going into intermission with a 0-0 tie. Then with only 4:20 remaining in the match, freshman Michelle Kabaira connected with Godfrey who finished in the cage for a 1-0 lead and the game-winning goal.

Denison's Lucy Pearsall led the match with four shots on goal while Godfrey added three total shots. Goalkeeper Teya Adams posted her third shutout of the season as she totaled a three-save performance in 70 minutes of play. As we flip the field, Earlham's sophomore keeper Camille van der Vaart finished with seven saves in a full match effort.

The Big Red has won four straight matches, including three road victories and three shutouts. During the winning streak, DU has outscored their opponents 10-2.

Denison will return to Deeds Field-Piper Stadium this Saturday, Sept. 30 as they play host to Rhodes College for a scheduled start of 11:00 a.m.
