OBERLIN, Ohio— Denison's 10 game winning streak versus Oberlin College that dated back to the 2012-13 season came to an end on Wednesday night as the Big Red fell 59-52 to the Yeomen.

Denison struggled to find any sort of rhythm in the first half.  They trailed Oberlin 21-16 at the intermission and shot just 17 percent in the opening 20 minutes.

In the second half, they warmed up a bit, scoring 36 points while shooting 52 percent but Oberlin matched them from the field, shooting 52 percent while outscoring DU 38-36 in the period.  Oberlin's Eli Silverman-Lloyd scored 13 of 14 points in the second half.  Andrew Campbell led them with 17 points.

Denison trailed by 18 with 14:16 left in the second half but they cut the deficit to 10 with just under 10 minutes to play after a 3-pointer by Claude Chandonnet.  A three-point play by Matt Doyle with 5:21 to play made it a seven-point game but two misses and two turnovers on DU's next four possessions kept the scoreboard frozen at 51-44 with 2:40 to play.

A steal and a basket by Garrett Collier made it a 51-46 contest with 2:34 remaining but Oberlin would put the game away when Evan Suppa's 3-pointer with 44 seconds left turned a five-point deficit to eight.

Jack Coulter led Denison in scoring with 10 points. Chandonnet and Doyle added eight while Collier finished with seven points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Denison shot 34 percent for the game compared to 44 percent for the home team.

The Big Red will return to the court on Saturday (Jan. 27) when they take on third-ranked Wittenberg at 3 p.m. in Springfield, Ohio.
