APOLLO, Pa.--  Denison posted four scores in the 70s on both days of the Carnegie Mellon Fall Shoot Out. Two strong days of golf resulted in a third-place finish and a 36-hole team score of 593.

On Sunday at the Links at Spring Church, Christian Early fired an even-par round of 70 to finish in a tie for 13th in the overall standings.  His 36-hole score of 147 tied him with Nick Brodbeck for the team lead.  Brodbeck followed his 72 on Saturday with a 75 on Sunday.

Charlie Winkler followed with his second round of 75 in as many days to tie for 18th place at 150.  Denison's fourth score on Sunday came from Will Grady to card a 77 after a first round 79.  An 81 from Connor Holleran closed out the Big Red's scoring at Carnegie Mellon.

The team championship went to the host, Tartans, who totaled 570.  Allegheny placed second with a 577, followed by Denison (593) and Washington & Jefferson (595). Saint Vincent finished fifth (600) and Point Park took sixth (604).

The Big Red will travel to Danville, Indiana next weekend (Sept. 23-24) for the Dan Quayle Classic hosted by DePauw University at Twin Bridges Golf Club.
