WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. -- Headlined by a pair of top 10 finishes from Nick Brodbeck and Will Grady, Denison men's golf finished in third place overall at the 2018 Centre Spring Invitational in Wesley Chapel, Fla. Garnering a team score of 943 through three rounds of competition, DU finished 13 strokes ahead of fourth place Allegheny College (956), and 12 strokes behind the host and second place finisher, Centre College (931). Rensselaer Polytechnic took the tournament's top honor with a team score of 922.
After a 79 in his opening round, Brodbeck posted back-to-back 76's for a total card of 231 to lead the Big Red in sixth place. Grady added another top 10 finish for DU, totaling a 236 through three rounds to finish in 10th.
Despite Connor Holleran finishing the final day three strokes better than freshman Charlie Winkler, the pair finished in a tie for 16th place with individual scores of 242. Sophomore Christian Early rounded out the Denison scoring in 18th with a 244, just two strokes back of Holleran and Winkler.
The Big Red will return to their home course on Saturday, April 7 when they host the two-day Ted Barclay Invitational at the Denison Golf Club in Granville.
