OWINGS MILLS, Md.-- Brooks Davy scored five goals but it wasn't enough as No. 10 Denison suffered a 14-9 loss to No. 8 Dickinson at the Mustang Classic, hosted by Stevenson University.

Dickinson took a 3-1 lead in the first quarter but two goals by Davy to close out the first tied the game at 3-3 heading to the second.  The second quarter is where the Red Devils took command.  The Big Red committed seven turnovers and were just 1-for-5 when clearing the ball.  That allowed Dickinson to outscore the Big Red 6-1 in the quarter to take a 9-4 lead into the second half.

DU opened the third quarter with goals by Owen Armstrong and Peter Pittroff to make it a three-goal game.  The Red Devils got a score from Nate Usich but Davy came back to make it a 10-7 game with five minutes to play in the third quarter.  Over the final 20 minutes, Dickinson outscored Denison 4-2 to come away with the 14-9 victory.

Brodie Phillips scored three goals and had three assists for the Red Devils.  Davy scored a game-high five goals for Denison on nine shots.  Spencer Butler and Pittroff both finished with one goal and one assist while Armstrong and Camden Bowdey closed out the DU scoring with one goal apiece.  Reeves McKenny faced 30 shots and finished with a career-high 16 saves.  Cole Pellicano tallied 13 saves for the Red Devils.  Chris Broderick led Denison with five ground balls while Pittroff and Butler both added four.

Denison returns to Mustang Stadium on Saturday, March 16 for another top-20 matchup when they take on 14th ranked Franklin & Marshall at 1:45 p.m. in Owings Mills on the campus of Stevenson University.
