(L-R) Jack Thomas, Luis Zamora & David Jaben

The Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association has recognized Denison men's soccer for their academic and on-field achievement this season, naming senior Jack Thomas and junior David Jaben to the Division III Academic All-Ohio second-team and junior Luis Zamora to the Division III All-Ohio second-team.

Following their first North Coast Athletic Conference tournament bid since 2010, Thomas posted 50 total saves for the Big Red in 2017 and notched a career-best 10 saves in the NCAC Tournament semi-finals at Kenyon College. The Denver, Colo. native is a two-time NCAC Academic Honor Roll honoree and currently holds a 3.65 GPA as a Philosophy, Politics and Economics major.

Already collecting All-NCAC honorable mention honors this season, Jaben led the DU defense to seven shutouts in 2017 and posted his first career goal in a 3-3 tie at Wabash College on Oct. 17. A member of the 2016-2017 NCAC Academic Honor Roll, the junior from Waynesville, N.C. is an Economics and Political Science major and sports a 3.51 GPA.

On the heels of an All-North Coast Athletic Conference first-team selection, Zamora posted a career-high with five goals this season, including two goals in a 5-0 win at Wittenberg on Oct. 14. The Stamford, Conn. native also led the team with 14 points and tallied four assists to finish second on the squad.
