GRANVILLE, Ohio – Denison men's soccer earned a berth in the 2018 NCAC Tournament after defeating No. 22 Ohio Wesleyan 2-1 last Saturday in Delaware. Entering as the No. 3 seed, the Big Red will return to the Jay Martin Soccer Complex on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. for a rematch with the second-seeded Battling Bishops. Ohio Wesleyan will provide live video and live stats for the match.

Earning their first win over Ohio Wesleyan since 2009, the Big Red punched their ticket to the conference tournament after a header from Leo Herard opened the scoring in the 11th minute on Saturday night, and another header from fellow freshman Stu Windell at 74:32 allowed DU to clinch their second-straight trip to the NCAC Tournament.

Totaling 19 goals this season, the Big Red have been led by senior Adrian Miller's four goals, including three in the last five games. Herard and sophomore Luke Summers both rank second on the team with two goals each on 19 combined shots.

On the defensive side of the ball, senior David Jaben and juniors Ryan Albers and Eric Buer have highlighted the Denison backline while posting five shutouts on the season and a goals-against average of 1.31. In goal, DU's Dylan Brown currently leads the NCAC with 70 saves during the regular season while compiling an overall record of 7-7-2 in 16 starts.

Looking to rebound from Saturday's loss, the Bishops will counter the Big Red with 10 multi-goal scorers, including a combined 11 goals from Adam Yingling and Hector Gomez. Junior goalkeeper J.P. Baughman currently leads the NCAC in goals against (10) and goals-against average (0.59) while boasting an overall record of 12-3-2.

The winner of the Denison-Ohio Wesleyan semifinal will face the winner of the No. 1 Kenyon vs. No. 4 Wabash semifinal in the championship on Saturday, Nov. 3 at the home field of the highest remaining seed.

Tickets for Wednesday's NCAC Tournament are $7 for adults and $3 for children (18-and-under).  College students from NCAC institutions are admitted free of charge.
