The Big Red men's tennis team secured its third-straight win following a 6-3 win over Earlham on Saturday afternoon in Richmond, Ind.
Denison grabbed a 2-1 edge in the match after picking up victories at second and third doubles. The team of Andrew Marczak and Casey Cempre posted their 16th doubles win of the season after edging Phillip Locklear and Hank Levin, 8-6. At the third flight, Jackson O'Gorman-Bean and Jeffrey LoDuca notched their sixth-consecutive win and improved to 8-1 on the year following an 8-5 decision over Scott Lawrence and Andrey Gavrilov.
In singles action, the Big Red won flights three through six to secure the win. Cempre knocked off Levin via matching 6-2 scores at third singles, while Grant Veltman won a three-set decision over Jack Ventura-Cruess (6-4, 6-7, 10-4). O'Gorman-Bean (6-1, 6-0) and Owen Smith (6-1, 6-2) both won convincingly at the fifth and sixth flights, respectively.
With the win, Denison moves to 8-4 overall, while Earlham falls to 5-4. The Big Red returns to action next Saturday when they travel to Oberlin for a 1 p.m. match.
