GRANVILLE, Ohio -- The Big Red men's tennis team picked up their third-consecutive victory after knocking off Oberlin, 7-2, on Sunday afternoon.

Denison held a 2-1 edge at the completion of doubles play. Danish Siddiquie and Colin Bahin won by the largest margin, defeating Abraham Davis and Michael Drougas 8-3 at the third flight. The other two doubles matches were battles. The Yeomen earned their point via 9-8 decision at No. 2 doubles.

The biggest match was the top doubles flight where the region's 13th ranked team, Ian Paik and Jeremy Lichtmacher, took on 15th ranked Kevin Brown and Blake Burstein. In a tightly contested battle, Brown and Burstein came out victorious with a 9-7 win which marked their fifth-straight and seventh overall this season.

The Big Red pulled away for the win by winning five of the sixth singles matches. Brown, ranked 15th in the central region, defeated 23rd ranked Paik via matching 7-5 scores. Jamie McDonald, Bahin and Burstein also won in straight sets for DU. McDonald took down Drougas 7-5, 6-0 at second singles, while Bahin beat Robert Gittings 6-2, 6-1 at the fourth flight. Burstein picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles. Denison's final victory came at fifth singles where Siddiquie won a three-set decision (2-6, 6-4, 10-2).

DU improves to 6-7 on the season while the loss drops Oberlin to 11-7. The Big Red will be back in action next Sunday (April 9) when they travel to Cleveland State for a 6 p.m. match.
