GRANVILLE, Ohio--  Denison improved to 6-1 after a 9-0 victory over the College of Wooster from the Mitchell Fieldhouse on Wednesday.

All eyes were on No. 1 singles as Denison first-year Vlad Rotnov took on last year's NCAC Player of the Year, Titas Bera.  The match did not disappoint as Rotnov prevailed 10-7 in a third set tiebreaker.  That snapped a lengthy 14-match winning streak for Bera at No. 1 singles which began on April 23, 2017.  Rotnov took the first set, 6-2 but Bera battled back for a 7-6 (5) win to force the 10-game tiebreaker.  Rotnov improves to 13-3 overall and 5-2 in dual matches this season.

At No. 2 singles, Mitchell Thai defeated Jesse DeWitt, 6-3, 6-1 and Jamie McDonald took care of Joaquin Abos Amo in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.

Kevin Brown, Danish Siddiquie, and Patrick McGuigan rounded out the six-point sweep in singles play.

In doubles, Brown and McDonald knocked off Bera and DeWitt, 8-6 at No. 1.  Rotnov and Thai took down Nathan Devereux and Abos Amo, 8-1 at second doubles while Blake Burstein and McGuigan posted an 8-3 win at third doubles.

Denison, who is ranked 28th in the latest Division III rankings, will travel to Carnegie Mellon on Saturday for a 10 a.m. match against the eighth-ranked Tartans.
