BELLEVILLE, Ill. – Denison men's tennis suffered their fourth loss of the dual season on Saturday afternoon, falling to No. 10 Washington University of St. Louis, 9-0, at the Kings Point Sports Club in Belleville, Ill.
In doubles play, the nation's 12th ranked pairing of Jason Haugen and Konrad Kozlowski took No. 1 doubles from Denison's Kevin Brown and Blake Burstein, 8-2, while Jamie McDonald and Mitchell Thai were edged by Radha Vishnubhotla and Bernardo Neves in a 9-8 (7-2) tiebreaker in No. 2 doubles.
In singles play, two of the region's top 20 players squared off in No. 1 singles with Johnny Wu defeating Vlad Rotnov 6-4, 6-1. In No. 3 singles versus Benjamin vander Sman, McDonald forced a tiebreaker in the second set, but eventually fell 6-2, 7-6 (7-3).
The Big Red will return to Mitchell Fieldhouse on Tuesday, April 10 for their final home match of the season as they host Wittenberg University for a 4:30 p.m. start.
