DU places 6th at Shannon Invite

The Denison men's indoor track and field team finished in sixth-place at the Bob Shannon Invitational hosted by Denison University at the Mitchell Center.  The Big Red totaled 48 points.  Carnegie Mellon was the team champion with 139 points.

The distance medley relay team of Mitch Keller, Zach Munn, Niall Clancey and Zach Cove placed first with a time of 10:40.65.  The same foursome would take second in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:32.88.

Keller, Cove and Clancey would also finish in second, third and seventh, respectively in the 800-meter run.  Keller's time of 1:58.58 led the way.  Cove followed in 2:00.15 while Clancey crossed the line in 2:03.17.

In the 60 meter dash, Quenton Richards qualified for the finals and placed sixth after posting a time of 7.20 seconds.

First-year Isaac Reed would post a fifth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.22 seconds.  In the mile, it was Drake Lohnes who ended up 10th after his time of 4:51.81.

The 4x200 relay team of Richards, Lucas Romick, Michael Bonebrake and Reed would round out DU's top finishers with a time of 1:37.51 and a fourth place finish.

Denison will be back in action next Saturday at the All-Ohio Championship hosted by Otterbein University.
