Keller tabbed NCAC’s top distance runner

Denison Track and Field Team Member

Denison senior Mitch Keller was named North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Distance Runner of the Week after collecting three top-2 finishes at the Bob Shannon Invitational last weekend in Granville.

Keller's weekend was highlighted by a victory in the distance medley relay alongside teammates Zach Munn, Niall Clancey and Zach Cove. That foursome posted a winning time of 10:40.65. The same Denison grouping also took second in the 4x400 relay after clocking in at 3:32.88. Both of those times rank third in the NCAC this season. Additionally, the DMR performance from last Saturday ranks 29th nationally.

Along with his relay success, Keller also had a runner-up performance in the 800-meter run, crossing the line in 1:58.58. The senior's times was 21 hundredths of a second behind the pace set by Carnegie Mellon's Isaac Mills. Keller currently ranks second in the conference in the 800.

Keller and the rest of his Big Red teammates will return to action this Saturday at the All-Ohio Championship hosted by Otterbein University. Both running and field events are scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
