The Denison men's indoor track & field squad took 12th at the Division III All-Ohio Championship hosted by Otterbein University on Saturday in Westerville, Ohio.
The highlight of the day was the third-place showing by the distance medley relay team of senior Mitch Keller, sophomore Zach Munn, freshman Niall Clancey and sophomore Zach Cove. Collectively, the foursome combined for a time of 10:22.46 which ranks as the second-best performance by a DMR team in school history. The grouping also jumped from 29th to 17th on the national list in the event.
In addition to their standout performance in the distance medley relay, Keller and Clancey also turned in top-8 showings individually. Keller finished fifth in the 800-meter run after crossing the line in 1:57.74, while Clancey was eighth in the mile with a time of 4:30.26.
Mount Union won their fifth-consecutive All-Ohio title with 118 points followed by Ohio Wesleyan with 96 tallies. Baldwin Wallace took third with 92 points, while the host Cardinals (81) and Ohio Northern (63.50) rounded out the top-five in the team standings.
The Big Red returns to action next weekend when they travel to Gambier, Ohio for the Kenyon College Classist which is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
