BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Junior David Carter and sophomore Bryce Stricker combined for three top-three finishes on Monday afternoon as they competed in the 2018 'Southern Indoor Challenge hosted by Birmingham-Southern College at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Stricker, who currently holds the program record in the weight throw, took second-place in the event with a distance of 51'2.75" (15.61 meters). He followed that up with another top-three performance in the shot put, placing third with a throw of 43'0.25" (13.11 meters).
In the triple jump event, Carter placed first with a jump of 46'7.25" (14.20 meters) just two days after setting a new personal record in the same event (47'3.75") at the 2018 All-Ohio Championships at Otterbein University.
Denison men's track and field will return to action this Saturday, Feb. 17 when they travel to Gambier, Ohio to compete in the 2018 Kenyon Classic. Select members will also travel to Kent, Ohio to take part in the 2018 Kent State Tune-Up meet.
