MEADVILLE, Pa.--  Denison sits 12 strokes off the pace after round one of the 2017 North Coast Athletic Conference Championship Series.  Wittenberg leads the field after an opening round 321.  DePauw is second at 327 followed by Denison (333), Wooster (336), Ohio Wesleyan (342) and Allegheny (364).

Denison was led on Saturday by Emmy Timberlake's 7-over par, 80.  Anne Miller fired an 81 followed by Tina Berardi (85) and Sophie Kollin (87).  Nicole Wetoska rounded out the five-woman team with a 92.

Timberlake, Miller and Berardi all carded birdies on the 322-yard par-4 No. 15.

The low round of the day was a 72 posted by Wittenberg's Macy Hubbard.

Denison returns to Meadville Country Club on Sunday for the second round of the NCAC Championship Series.
