The Denison women's golf team sits just eight shots out of third place at the halfway point of the 2017 North Coast Athletic Conference Championship Series. Through 36 holes, the Big Red has compiled 677 strokes. Wittenberg leads the six-team field with 640 shots.

Senior Anne Miller paced Denison on Sunday with a nine-over par, 82. Freshman Emmy Timberlake was right behind with an 83. At the conclusion of play at the Country Club of Meadville, the Big Red duo sits in a tie for sixth place with 163 strokes apiece. Senior Tina Berardi has a two-round score of 172 following an 87 on Sunday, while junior Sophie Kollin completed the event with 179 strokes. Berardi is currently in 16th place, while Kollin is in 22nd.

Wittenberg's Jane Hopkinson-Wood fired the low round of the day as she carded a one-under par, 72. Hopkinson-Wood went on to take home medalist honors by tiebreaker because of her second-round score. DePauw (652) trails first-place Wittenberg by 12 strokes, while Wooster shot a 669 over the weekend.

The final two rounds of the NCAC Championship Series will be played next weekend (April 29-30) at Royal American Links in Galena, Ohio.
