Women's golf sitting in sixth place at DePauw

DANVILLE, Ind.--  Denison opened the first round of the Dan Quayle Collegiate Golf Classic at Twin Bridges Golf Club in sixth place with a team score of 332. Washington University-St. Louis currently leads all nine teams with a score of 296, while Wittenberg University sits in second place with 304. North Central College is currently only two strokes back of DU in seventh place with a 334. 

The Big Red was paced by Emmy Timberlake's first round score of 81 and sophomore Lauren Danielson, who carded an 82 after a 39 on the front nine.  Danielson racked up 10 pars on her way to her 10-over par score of 82.

Senior Sophie Kollin was just one stroke behind Danielson on the leaderboard after posting an 83. Kollin went out in 42 and in with 41 to post her 83.  She posted eight pars on the day.

Checking in third for DU was Nicole Wetoska with an 88.  Moe Madar rounded out the top four in scoring with a 90.

Denison returns to Twin Bridges Golf Club on Sunday, Sept. 24 for the final round.
