Denison scored three goals over the final 1:17 of the first half, breaking a 3-3 tie.  That flurry would springboard the Big Red to an 11-goal second half and the eventual 17-4 victory over Ohio Wesleyan.

It was a back-and-forth contest for the first 29 minutes but Molly Chapman's goal with just over a minute to play in the opening half gave the Big Red a 4-3 lead.  After securing the draw, Carol Allen found Kelsey Wright in motion, giving DU a 5-3 lead.  The biggest goal of the contest would follow as senior Lauren Adams connected with Whitney Powel 14 seconds before the intermission.

In the second half DU continued to pour it on, scoring eight unanswered goals to open the period.  Elsie Humes was behind the first three goals.  Chapman would score via a free-position attempt with 19:09 left, and with 3:15 remaining in the contest Chapman posted the hat trick.  Her final goal also marked goal No. 100 in her career.  The junior also added three assist in the contest, moving her career assist total to 96.

Humes led all scorers with four goals and one assist.  Allen posted two goals and four helpers while Chapman matched her in points with three goals and three assists.  Keller and Isabel Tumminello both chipped in a pair of goals while Reid Hirschey, Wright, Adams and Powel rounded out the scoring.

Rachel Pregel led the defense with five ground balls.  Powel posted three caused turnovers, and Chapman led all players with nine draw controls.

DU goalie Laura Van Horn posted three saves in 60 minutes.  OWU's Jordan Bernstein played 42 minutes and finished with 10 saves.  The Battling Bishops were led offensively by two goals from Sophie Love.

The win improves DU's record to 8-3 and 3-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference.  Ohio Wesleyan falls to 6-7 overall and 1-4 in the NCAC.  The Big Red will return to action on Tuesday when they host The College of Wooster at 5 p.m.
