GRANVILLE, Ohio—Kelly Wall and Heather Conklin combined for 11 of No. 19 Brockport's 17 goals as they handed Denison a 17-7 defeat in the second round of the 2017 NCAA Division III Tournament.  With the loss, Denison's season ends with a 15-4 record.  Brockport advances to the third round where they will face Middlebury.

It took only 27 seconds for the Big Red to strike first as Maddy Heher connected with Claudia Rafi on her 38th goal of the season after Jane Goodspeed took the opening draw control.

Brockport responded in a big way, scoring six-straight goals over a 16-minute span to take a 6-1 lead.  Four of the six goals came from Wall and the other two came from Conklin.

The Big Red's lone spark of the afternoon came when Heher scored with 8:16 left in the first and Leah Israel followed with her 31st goal of the season via Heher's second assist of the game.  That cut it to a 6-3 Brockport lead.

The Golden Eagles made sure DU's comeback bid was short-lived when Jessica Boddery scored 13 seconds after Israel, bumping it back to a four-goal deficit.  The Boddery goal sparked another 5-0 run to close out the first half.  The Golden Eagles took an 11-3 lead into halftime and outscored the Big Red 6-4 in the second half to secure the win.

Wall scored six goals off of eight shots and Conklin netted five goals via 10 shots.  Sara Shaddock posted three saves for Brockport while playing all 60 minutes in goal.

Heher led DU in points with four (2g,2a).  Denison's remaining five goals were scored by Claire Ludlow, Rafi, Halle Walsh, Reid Hirschey and Israel.  Ludlow leaves DU with 177 goals and 71 assists for 248 points.  She ranks second in Denison history in all three categories.

This marked Denison's fourth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance and the program's 19th trip to the postseason, overall.  Brockport was making their second-straight appearance and third, overall.
