UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio--  Denison scored the first nine goals of the game and that big lead gave them enough breathing room to leave Northeast Ohio with a 14-8 victory over John Carroll.

The Blue Streaks entered the game with a record of 11-1 with their only loss coming on April 4 to conference rival Mount Union.  Denison checked in at 10-2, winners of six-straight.

Denison's Kiely Noonan scored the first three goals of the game and led DU with four goals and three assists.  Leah Israel followed with three goals and Claudia Rafi posted two goals and two assists.  Jane Goodspeed led the defense with six ground balls and Israel paced the squad with four draw controls.

Also scoring for Denison was Liza Farnham, Lindsey Karsh, Virginia Hamilton, Maddy Heher and Hope Adams.

Hannah Magarian started in goal and allowed one goal in 30 minutes while making six saves.  Becca Jones gave up seven goals and finished with five saves.

Denison held a 36-30 advantage in shots and won the ground ball battle, 19-16.  The Big Red returns to conference play on Saturday when they travel to Hiram, Ohio for a 1 p.m. draw against the Terriers.
