DANVILLE, Ky. – Thanks to a goal from senior Allison Vilsack in the 57th minute, the Denison women's soccer team defeated Centre College 1-0 on Saturday afternoon in Danville, Kentucky.

The Big Red outshot the Colonels 12-9 for the match, and after a header for Centre went wide in the 56th minute, Denison flipped the field and Vilsack capitalized, resulting in her second goal of the season.

For Denison, they received help defensively from senior goalkeeper Jenny Herold. Herold recorded five saves on the afternoon and earned her fourth shutout in the last five contests. Herold moves to 3-2-2 on the season. On the other side of the pitch, Centre's senior keeper Sarah Youkilis totaled one save in 90 minutes of action to go to 2-2-1 on the year.

As a team, the Big Red have only allowed one goal in their last 497 minutes played and have totaled a record of 2-1-2 since September 6 when they logged a 0-0 tie with Otterbein.

Denison will stay on the road next Saturday, September 23 when they head to Meadville, Pennsylvania to take on Allegheny College. The match is set for 12 p.m.
