ORLANDO, Fla. -- Looking to avenge their loss to D-I Towson on Monday night, Denison women's tennis handed a 7-2 defeat to the Tigers of Colorado College on Tuesday morning at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

Starting with doubles competition on the Team USA Courts, DU's No. 1 combo of Lauren Hawley and Emma Alsup blew by Allie Burak and Jenna McDonald, 8-3, while Megan Hickey and Ashley Hammons took care of business in No. 2 doubles, defeating Colorado College's Annie Zlevor and Caroline James, 8-4.

The Tigers earned their first win of the day when Simone Hall and Madison Doerre edged Madeline Hart and Courtney Brown, 8-6, in No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, the first four courts were all Denison as Hawley began play in No. 1 singles with a 7-5, 6-0 win over Burak. Alsup continued the trend in No. 2 play with a 6-2, 6-1 defeat of McDonald, and Hickey did the same on the No. 3 court, pushing past CC's Tess Rubin, 6-2, 6-5.

Colorado College was able to take No. 5 singles when Zlevor added a 6-3, 6-0 win over Hammons, but the Big Red rounded out the team win when Charlotte Purnode won the first set tie-breaker on the No. 6 court, 7-6 (7-5), over Doerre, and then took the match with a 6-2 win in the second set.

Denison will now travel to Lakeland, Fla. for a matchup with the Mocs of Florida Southern College on Thursday, March 22 at 3 p.m.
