Sophomore sprinter Ajai Brooks became the school record holder in the 60-meter dash at the Ohio State Tune-Up on Friday night in Columbus, Ohio. On Saturday, the Big Red women's track and field team placed seventh at the Kenyon Classic.

Brooks opened the weekend with a record-breaking performance on Friday in the 60-meter dash at the Ohio State University Tune-Up. Officially, the sophomore finished eighth in the event with a time of eight seconds flat. However, earlier in the meet, Brooks took seventh in the preliminaries with a school-record time of 7.78. That time was two hundredths of a second faster than the record set at the 2014 North Coast Athletic Conference Championship meet by former DU standout Tiffany Davis. Additionally, Brooks' time was a five hundredths of a second improvement on her previous personal record.

Also competing at Ohio State was junior Hannah Hall. Hall finished runner-up in the high jump after successfully clearing 5'4". Hall's classmate Arlesha Cospy traveled to Kent State to compete at their tune-up meet. Cospy finished eighth in the weight throw with a top mark of 50'0.50" which was a quarter inch shy of her school record mark.

The majority of the women's team traveled to Gambier, Ohio for the Kenyon College Classic. Senior Anne Lee led the way with a pair of top-4 performances. Lee placed second in the triple jump with a combined leap or 32'4.25", while her mark of 14'4" earned her fourth in the long jump. Freshman Bren'et Muldrow also scored in multiple events, placing sixth in the 200 (28.18) and seventh in the 400 (1:03.30).

In the 5,000-meter run, senior Claire Barcelo crossed the line in 20:47.84 en route to a sixth-place showing. Sophomore Caroline Goldberg followed in seventh with a time of 22:58.82. Freshman Erin O'Connor and junior Emily Grabauskas also finished 6-7 in the mile run. O'Connor checked in at 5:32.17, while Grabauskas logged a time of 5:32.74. Sophomore Grace Zukowski also finished tied for seventh in the high jump (4'5").

The foursome of Shelby Jude, Sara Lichtenberg, Sydney Chandler and Sydney Lerda closed out the scoring for Denison with a fifth-place finish in the 4x400 relay. The grouping completed the race in 4:22.22.

Penn State-Behrend took home the team title with 106.5 points, 2.5 tallies ahead of Waynesburg. The host Ladies finished third with 103.5 points followed by Wooster (73) and Westminster (65). Wittenberg (47.5), Denison (38.5), Bethany (10) and Oberlin (9) rounded out the team standings.

The Big Red will be back in action when they host the NCAC Last Chance Meet this Friday (Feb. 24) at the Mitchell Fieldhouse in Granville. Events are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
