GAMBIER, Ohio -- The Denison women's track and field team placed sixth at the Kenyon Spring Invitational on Saturday. As a team, the Big Red compiled 61 points.

The day was highlighted by a victory in the 4x100 relay. The team of Bren'et Muldrow, Mackenzie Mason, Ali Maddox and Amy Kirk combined for a time of 52.47 to take home the win. Their performance bested Kenyon's second-place time by almost six seconds. In addition to the relay win, three of the four participants scored in other events. Mason finished fourth in the pole vault with a personal-best mark of 9'4.25".

Muldrow was fifth in the 200-meter run at 26.99, while Kirk scored in both hurdle events. The freshman was fifth in the 100 hurdles (18.12), while her time of 1:17.07 was good enough for sixth in the 400-meter hurdles. Bryn Tomczak finished one slot ahead of Kirk in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.88. Sydney Chandler placed third in the 400 hurdles after crossing the line in 1:10.52. Both Chandler and Tomczak moved into ninth place on the top performers list in their respective events.

Junior Arlesha Cospy posted top-4 performances in three different events. She was runner-up in both the shot put (38'1.25") and discus (142'9"), while also finishing fourth in the hammer (134'7"). Caroline Fontes rounded out the scoring with an eighth-place finish in the 400-meter event. Fontes checked in with a time of 1:05.77.

Oberlin captured the team title with 261 points, well ahead of second place Wooster (112). The host Ladies were third at 85, just four points in front of Wittenberg (81). Mount Vernon Nazarene (77), Denison and Allegheny (20) rounded out the team scoring.

In addition to competition at Kenyon, junior Hannah Hall competed at the Jesse Owens Classic at Ohio State on Saturday. Hall placed 12th in the high jump after successfully clearing 5'4.25".

Denison will be back in action next Friday (April 28) when they host the annual Denison Big Red Invitational. Events are scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
