DELAWARE, Ohio-- The Denison women's track and field team sent a limited roster to Ohio Wesleyan on Friday night for the 2018 OWU Open. The Big Red totaled 16.5 points and finished fourth overall. Ohio Wesleyan finished first with 91 points. Muskingum was second with 53 points and Franciscan University finished third with 19 points.
Leading the way for Denison was first-year Danni Gutelius who placed first in the high jump and fourth in the 200-meter dash. In the high jump, Gutelius cleared 4'9.75" to tie Kimberly Taylor of Muskingum for first place.
In the 200 meter dash, Gutelius clocked in at 29.95 seconds finishing behind a trio from Ohio Wesleyan.
In the pole vault, Mackenzie Mason placed third by clearing 8'6" (2.59m).
Denison's night was completed by Anna Vrancken who placed seventh in the shot put with a throw of 32'3" (9.83m).
On Saturday, Feb. 10, select members of the Denison track and field team will compete at the All-Ohio Championship hosted by Otterbein University.
