CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – Headlined by five top-10 finishes, Denison women's track and field currently sits in sixth-place after day one of the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship. With 18 team points, the Big Red trails fifth-place Wooster (20) by two points and fourth-place Allegheny by five points. Oberlin is in the lead with 80.5 points.

In the field events, junior Mackenzie Mason set a new personal-best in the pole vault, clearing a height of 10'5.25" (3.18 meters) to finish in sixth place. A pair of top-10's resided in the shot put as Arlesha Cospy posted a throw of 38'11.75" (11.88 meters) for fifth-place, and freshman Anna Vrancken added a 10th-place finish with a distance of 34'8.50" (10.58 meters). Maddy Uible finished the event in 11th with a 32'10.50" (10.02 meters).

On the track, junior Anna Fash earned a third-place finish in the 5,000-meter run, clocking in at 18:45.89.  It marked the first All-NCAC performance of her career. DU's distance medley team of Phoebe Osterhout, Sydney Lerda, Sydney Chandler and Erin O'Connor finished the event in fifth-place with a time of 13:12.62.

In the prelims of the 800-meter run, freshman Molly Smith finished with the sixth fastest time on the day, a new PR of 2:25.81, to qualify for the event finals on Saturday.

Denison will return to Wabash on Saturday, March 3 to compete in the final day of the NCAC Indoor Championship. The day will start with field events at 10 a.m.
