Women’s XC places seventh at NCAC Championship

POWELL, Ohio – Highlighted by all-conference honors for freshmen Emily Willson and Meagan Balch, Denison women's cross country placed seventh overall at the 2018 North Coast Athletic Conference Championship held at Liberty Park in Powell, Ohio. With 165 team points, the Big Red finished 12 points behind sixth-place Ohio Wesleyan (153), and 22 points ahead of Wittenberg in eighth place. Oberlin College finished with three runners in the top 10 as they capture their first NCAC title since 2014.

Competing amongst 84 runners at Liberty Park's 6k course, Willson and Balch earned All-NCAC honorable mention status after the pair went back-to-back at 20th and 21st place with final times of 23:55.2 and 23:56.2, respectively.

Junior Erin O'Connor posted the best finish of her career at the NCAC Championship, finishing in 29th place with a time of 24:14.9. Sophomore Tommy Solberg followed in 59th at 25:11.3 and Sarah Radziewicz rounded out the team scoring in 64th after clocking in at 25:41.2. Also competing for DU, freshman Stefanie Rodrigues posted a final time of 33:00.4.

Following the conclusion of the conference meet, Denison will return to the course on Saturday, November 10 when they travel to Shelbyville, Ind. for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional meet held at Blue River Park.
