OBERLIN, Ohio--  Denison field hockey improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference after a commanding 6-0 win over Oberlin College.

The Big Red dominated possession, outshooting the Yeowomen 36-2.  Denison scored its first goal four minutes of the match off a pass from Kat Swan to Charlotte Godfrey.  Five minutes later, Godfrey fed Lucy Pearsall at the left wing for the score.  The Big Red took a 3-0 lead into the intermission after Ali Gakenheimer tipped in a feed from Godfrey.

Denison outshot Oberlin 20-2 in the first half, forcing Oberlin goalie Kennedy Kline to make 12 saves in the first 35 minutes of play.

The score remained 3-0 until the final 8 minutes of the second half.  The Big Red poured in three more goals off the sticks of Abby Scully (61:41), Rachel Kelsey (63:59) and Lauren Lazo (69:34).

Kline finished with 20 saves in goal for Oberlin.  Denison goalie Teya Adams turned in one save while facing two shots.

Pearsall led all Denison players with seven shots. Godfrey finished with six shots and a team-high four points.  Wooster is off to a 5-0 start to the season.

Denison travels to Wooster on Saturday for a 12 p.m. contest with the Fighting Scots.
