GRANVILLE, Ohio-- Denison landed four players on the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Great Lakes All-Region teams. Junior midfielder Abby Scully and sophomore defender Rachel Kelsey were named to the All-Region first-team while Charlotte Godfrey and AC Veith were named to the second-team.
This is Scully's second-straight first-team All-Region award. She was named the 2019 North Coast Athletic Conference Midfielder of the Year after starting all 21 matches this season. She scored six goals and led the team with seven assists. She has started all 63 matches in her career with the Big Red, totaling 13 goals and 11 assists.
This Is the first all-region honor for Kelsey who was named the 2019 NCAC Defensive Player of the Year after helping Denison hold opponents to 0.62 goals per game. Kelsey started all 21 contests and was a first-team all-conference pick.
Veith was named to the second-team all-region squad after earning second-team all-conference accolades. Veith started all 21 games and scored four goals while adding four assists. She was named the Most Valuable Player of the NCAC Tournament for the second-straight season.
Godfrey received her second-straight all-region nod after leading the team in goals (9), assists (7), and points (25). Last spring, Godfrey was also a second-team all-region selection as a member of the Big Red women's lacrosse team.
Closing out the season at 17-4, the Big Red also finished at 7-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference and captured their third-straight NCAC regular season and tournament championships.
