WOOSTER, Ohio--  Brooks Davy scored eight goals and Peter Pittroff tallied a career-high nine assists as No. 13 Denison ran away from the College of Wooster, 23-9 on Wednesday night.

The Big Red took a 5-3 lead after the first quarter of play thanks to a pair of goals from Jake Waxter and scores from Spencer Butler, Owen Armstrong, and Davy.

Denison pulled away with an eight-goal second quarter fueled by three more from Davy.  The Big Red went 7-for-10 on face-offs in the second quarter while the Fighting Scots committed eight of its 18 turnovers in the period.

In the second half, Denison opened in man-up after a two-minute non-releasable penalty on Wooster.  DU took advantage with goals by Davy and Waxter off feeds from Pittroff.  Davy scored the next three goals of the third to give Denison an 18-5 lead.

In the fourth, Denison's reserve unit gained valuable playing time and sophomore FOGO Steven Villacorta scored the first goal of his career after going 11-for-18 on faceoffs.

Richie Bartozzi and Michael Bomes led the defense with six ground balls and two caused turnovers apiece.  Reeves McKenney had seven saves in 45 minutes of action.

Pittroff's nine assists moved him into fourth place on Denison's career points list with 219. He passed Sean O'Brien (217) and Dave Baxter (213) and is just two points away from jumping Brady Burton for third place.

Davy's big day moved him from ninth to fourth on Denison's career goals leaderboard. He is six goals away from passing Emmett Jones for fourth place.
