KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Highlighted by a 3-0 sweep in doubles competition, the No. 25 Denison men's tennis team earned their third-straight victory on Sunday afternoon following a 6-3 defeat of 24th ranked Kalamazoo College at the Markin Center in Kalamazoo, Mich.

Following an 8-1 victory over Hope College the day before, the Big Red took control of the match from the start on the doubles court, taking all three matches for a perfect 3-0 sweep.

DU's first victory came in No. 2 doubles where seniors Kevin Brown and Blake Burstein defeated Zack Ray and Allen Vinson, 8-4. On the No. 3 court, Brian Weisberg and Patrick McGuigan landed an 8-5 defeat of Alex Cadigan and Casey Johnson before the Big Red wrapped up the doubles win in the top-flight thanks to Tim Cianciola and Mitchell Thai claiming an 8-6 victory over Ian Yi and Daniel Henry.

In singles play, the Hornets garnered their first win in the No. 1 pairing following Yi's 6-4, 6-4 defeat of Vlad Rotnov. The Big Red responded in No. 4 singles when Brown claimed a 7-4 tiebreaker over Cadigan in the first set to earn a 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 match victory.

After Henry tallied a 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 win over Thai in No. 2 play and Johnson won 6-4 in the first set before retiring McGuigan on the No. 5 court, the Hornets trimmed their deficit to 4-3 with two matches remaining.

Despite Kalamazoo's late rally, Cianciola solidified the victory for the Big Red in No. 3 singles and recovered from a first-set loss to defeat Vinson, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4. Jacob Dennen added one final win for DU in No. 6 play, retiring Ray after a 6-3 win in the first set.

Sitting at 3-2 so far during the dual match season, Denison will open conference play on Wednesday, March 6 when they travel to Delaware, Ohio for a 4:30 p.m. match start with Ohio Wesleyan.
