CLAREMONT, Calif.--  The No. 24 Denison men's tennis team dropped a heartbreaker to No. 12 Sewanee on Tuesday at the Biszantz Tennis Center, falling 5-4 to the Tigers.

In a battle between two of the top-five teams in the region, Sewanee edged the Big Red in singles play, winning four of the six points in straight sets to secure the one-point victory.

Denison entered singles play with a 2-1 lead thanks to 8-6 victories by Mitchell Thai and Tim Cianciola at No. 1 and Kevin Brown and Blake Burstein at No. 2.

The Big Red picked up two points in singles play as Vlad Rotnov defeated Andres Carro, 6-4, 6-1 out of the first flight.  At third singles, Cianciola topped Brandon Kali, 6-3, 6-3.

Denison is back in action on Thursday (March 21) when they take on the nation's No. 3 ranked team, Bowdoin at Cerritos College in Norwalk, California.  The match will begin at 10 a.m. PST/1 p.m. EDT.
