Men’s Cross Country opens season at Kenyon Quad

GAMBIER, Ohio – Led by a pair of finishes in the top-five, Denison men's cross country opened their 2019 campaign on Friday evening as they competed in the Kenyon College Quad Meet hosted in Gambier, Ohio.

Competing against area opponents such as Kenyon, Ohio Wesleyan, Muskingum, and Mount Vernon Nazarene on the 5K course, the Big Red were led by senior Ben Foster who placed fourth overall on a final time of 16:45.8. Junior Adam Cromwell trailed Foster by less than 14 seconds as he rounded out the top-five for DU in fifth place at 16:59.0.

Sophomore Keanan Ginell landed in 19th place at 17:40.8 and senior Clayton Watters crossed the finish line at 17:48.0 to take 22nd place. The trio of Rhys Fitschen-Brown (18:21.5), Calvin Riley (18:22.0), and Millan Henegar (18:22.1) took 35th through 37th place, while Sam Bloodworth closed out the top-40 for DU in 39th place at 18:26.5.

Benjamin Rumsfeld (18:31.8), Zack Johnston (18:39.1), Kenny Connelly (19:21.3), Jacob Rains (20:21.6), and Henri Hegemier (20:38.5) also competed for the Big Red.

Denison will return to action next Thursday, Sept. 5 when they host the College of Wooster for a traditional dual meet in Granville, Ohio.
