Cromwell helps DU to 5th-place finish at All-Ohio

CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- The Denison men's cross country team finished 13th overall and fifth in the Division III standings at the 2019 All-Ohio Championship on Saturday.

Junior Adam Cromwell paced the Big Red with a seventh-place showing in the Division III race after crossing the finish line in 26:07.1. That time was 21st-best in the field of over 300 runners. Senior Ben Foster was 13th among D-III racers with a final time of 26:39.2. Foster's time was the 46th-best time when compared against the entire field.

Keanan Ginell finished 34th after checking in at 27:36.7, while Clayton Watters was 45th with a time of 27:52.2. Rhys Fitschen-Brown rounded out the scoring for DU with a time of 28:42.2. Calvin Riley (28:48.6) and Zack Johnston (28:55.2) finished sixth and seventh for the Big Red, respectively.

Otterbein captured the Division III title with 32 total points. Case Western (49) and Franciscan (146) were second and third, respectively, while John Carroll (152) edged Denison (159) for fourth place. In addition, DU tallied 397 points across all divisions which landed them 13th out of 38 teams in the overall standings.

The Big Red returns to action on October 12 when they travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. to take part in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational.
