Denison Men's XC places fourth at NCAC Championship

CARMEL, Ind.--  Denison men's cross country placed three runners in the top-10 helping the Big Red to a fourth-place finish at the 2019 North Coast Athletic Conference Championship.  This is the highest finish for the Big Red men at the conference championship since 2010.

Denison junior Adam Cromwell earned first-team All-NCAC accolades after finishing fourth out of 99 runners.  He covered the 8K course in 26:02.7 and was just 20.7 seconds off the winning pace set by Wabash senior Sam Henthorn (25:42.7).

Second-team All-NCAC honors were earned by sophomore Keanan Ginell and senior Ben Foster.  Ginell placed eighth overall in 26:17.8.  Foster checked in 10th with a time of 26:21.7.

The Big Red's fourth and fifth scoring times came from Rhys Fitschen-Brown who placed 32nd with a time of 27:27.2.  Zackary Johnston placed 45th in 27:57.4 while Clayton Watters (47th – 28:03.8) and Kenny Connelly (73rd – 28:54.4) rounded out positions 6-7 for DU.

Also competing for the Big Red were Calvin Riley (29:09.9), Millan Henegar (29:14.1), Jacob Rains (30:02.7), Ben Rumsfeld (30:33.1), Samuel Bloodworth (31:56.0).

Denison returns to action on Saturday (Nov. 16) when they compete at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championship in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
