WOOSTER, Ohio--  Denison improved to 10-7 overall and remained in second place in the North Coast Athletic Conference after a 66-53 victory over the College of Wooster at Timken Gymnasium.

The Big Red trailed 16-6 after the first quarter but responded with a huge second quarter, outscoring the Fighting Scots 21-13 to move to within two points of the lead.  Lauren Longbrake provided a nice spark off the bench in the first half, scoring seven points on 3-of-4 shooting in eight minutes.

Denison trailed by one entering the fourth quarter but a quick jumper by Aliyah Hunter gave DU the lead at 41-40.  On Denison's next possession an offensive rebound by Alison Schafer led to a 3-pointer by Valesha Province.

With Denison leading by two with 6:58 remaining a similar sequence followed as Hunter cashed in a jumper and Province drilled another triple giving Denison its largest lead of the game at 51-44.

Province's fourth 3-pointer of the game and her third of the second half pushed DU's lead to nine with 4:41 to play.  In the fourth quarter, the Big Red outscored Wooster 27-13 to run away with the 13-point win.

Province led all scorers with 16 points on 5-of-11 shooting.  She was 4-of-8 from long range while adding four steals, four rebounds, and three assists.  Longbrake followed with 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds in 19 minutes.  Hunter added 12 points, five assists, and four rebounds in 27 minutes.  Lauren Hofer added eight points and Lauren Turner scored six points in the second half.
