GRANVILLE, Ohio--  Denison outscored Oberlin 43-25 in the second half to come away with a 72-54 victory over the Yeowomen on Saturday afternoon at Livingston Gymnasium.

With the game tied at 29-29 after a tightly contested first half, Denison answered with a 13-2 run to open the third quarter.  The run was fueled by 3-pointers from Alison Schafer, Zyah Beal, and Lauren Turner.  The Big Red shot 78 percent in the third quarter (7-of-8) and while outscoring Oberlin 20-9.

In the fourth, Denison's lead ballooned to 22 with 3:43 remaining after Turner's fifth 3-pointer of the day.  Turner finished with a career-high 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field and a 5-of-8 performance from beyond the arc.

Beal followed with 11 points while Lauren Longbrake paced DU on the glass with a game-high 10 rebounds and five points in 18 minutes of action.  Denison outrebounded Oberlin 37-24 with 16 of those boards coming on the offensive end.  That allowed the Big Red to outscore Oberlin 17-2 on second-chance points.

Schafer added nine points for the Big Red while Kat Williams and Lauren Hofer chipped in eight points.

Oberlin was led in scoring by Cheyenne Arthur's 12 points and five assists.  Ally Driscoll added 11 points for the Yeowomen.

With the win, Denison moves to 9-4 overall and 3-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference.  The Big Red returns to action on Wednesday (Jan. 8) when they travel to Gambier, Ohio for a 6 p.m. tipoff against Kenyon.
