MEADVILLE, Pa.--  Allegheny senior Zoe Soilis scored 14 points while leading her squad to a 54-43 victory over the Denison Big Red on Senior Day from the Wise Center.

Denison got off to a nice start, outscoring the Gators 15-8 in the first quarter.  Lauren Hofer scored six points in the period and Allegheny was held to a 4-of-15 shooting performance.

In the second quarter, things started to turn in favor of the home team.  The Gators opened the second quarter on an 11-0 run.  A 3-pointer by Solis with five minutes left in the second gave her team a 19-15 lead.  With 3:32 left in the second, Lily Morris' 3-pointer for DU cut the deficit to one at 21-20 but that is as close as the Big Red would get as the Gators outscored Denison 27-21 in the second half to complete the upset.

Denison (16-7, 10-4 NCAC) was led in scoring by Hofer with nine points. She also tied Aliyah Hunter for the team lead in rebounds with six.  Zyah Beal and Shonta Lockett followed with eight points and Alison Schafer finished with seven.

In addition to Soilis' 14 points, Rylee Donovan and Zoe Youdell added 10 points apiece.  Youdell paced Allegheny on the glass with 11 rebounds while Alexis Caldwell just missed a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.

Denison returns to Livingston Gymnasium next week to close out the 2020 regular season. On Wednesday (Feb. 19) they will host DePauw at 8 p.m.  Next Saturday, the Big Red will host Ohio Wesleyan on Senior Day at 1 p.m.
