Notre Dame, Ind. ⎯ Denison women's fencing continued their spring season this past Saturday at the DeCicco Duals hosted by the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Ind. The team went 2-5 overall, with wins against Detroit Mercy and Florida, as well as a narrow 13-14 loss to Division I-rival Cleveland State. In reference to his young squad, head coach Peter Grandbois said, "their understanding of the game of fencing is improving with each meet. I'm very pleased with their effort."

The women's epee squad went 3-4 overall with senior Hayley LeBlanc posting a stunning 11-3 win record, including a combined 3-3 record against top-ranked Notre Dame and No. 9 Northwestern. Close behind were senior Tuuli Qin-Terrill and junior Diyanshu Emandi with six victories each, as well as junior Denise Seifert with five victories. Freshman Talia Ferguson-Nieves tallied her first win of the season.

Women's sabre squad went 3-4 on the day, with junior Sé DiFilippo posting an impressive 9-6 record, including 3-0 shut outs of both Florida and Detroit. DiFilippo was assisted by five victories from freshman Tessy Udoh, two from freshman Mikayla Heath and one from sophomore Anusha Shukla.

Women's foil fought hard but came up short with a 1-6 record. Freshman Nor Tierney and junior Jocelyn Baeza lead the way with two victories each.

The Denison women's fencing team will return to action on February 1-2 when they travel to Evanston, Illinois to take part in the Northwestern University Mega Meet.
