CLEVELAND, Ohio – Senior Emmy Timberlake was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday after she led Denison women's golf to their second tournament title in three weeks at the Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic in Danville, Ind. This is her second NCAC weekly award this season and sixth of her career.
Two weeks after leading the Big Red to their record-setting victory at Ohio Wesleyan, Timberlake returned to dominance this past weekend when she helped DU record a two-day total of 622, 20 strokes better than second-place Rhodes College. After firing a 74 in the first round, Timberlake followed with a 77 on day two to finish with a 151 (+7) in second place, just one stroke back of Illinois Wesleyan's Melanie Wolf who claimed the individual title (150).
Through three tournaments this fall, the Charlottesville, Va. native has finished in the top-five in each competition, highlighted by her individual title at the OWU Fall Invitational on Sept. 8. She has also posted an average score of 75.5 so far this season.
Timberlake and the Big Red will return to action on Monday, Oct. 14 when they travel to Sylvania, Ohio to compete in the Gray Wolf Invitational hosted by Lourdes University.
