CLEVELAND, Ohio – Senior Emmy Timberlake was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week for the third time this season after leading the Big Red to their third-straight team win at the Gray Wolf Invitational this past Monday in Sylvania. This also marked the seventh NCAC weekly honor of Timberlake's career.
Earning her second medalist honor of the fall season, Timberlake paced the field with a single-round 79 (+7) that finished two strokes ahead of UNOH's Cristina Hidalgo and Denison's Megan Wong in second place (81). Timberlake's first victory of the fall came on Sept. 8 at the OWU Fall Invitational where she helped DU capture their first team title of the season with a weekend score of 145. Timberlake fired an even-par 72 on Saturday and followed that up with a 73 on Sunday. Her two-day total of 145 broke the program's 36-hole scoring record of 148 held by Brynn FitzGerald.
A native of Charlottesville, Va., Timberlake is currently ranked as the fourth-best player in the Great Lakes region by Golfstat and has fired a season average of 76.0. She has also finished in the top-five in all four tournaments this season.
Timberlake and the Big Red are currently competing in the first round of the 2019 Chick-fil-a Intercollegiate hosted by Berry College at the Coosa Country Club.
