GRANVILLE, Ohio – Following Thursday's 19-4 victory over Oberlin in the tournament semifinal, No. 1 seeded Denison women's lacrosse will host second-seeded Wooster for the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Championship on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Piper Stadium.

Sunday's matchup will feature the conference's two most successful teams this season with the Big Red entering at 14-4 and the Scots coming in at 16-1. This is also a rematch of last season's NCAC Tournament final where Denison defeated Wooster 17-10 for their fifth straight NCAC title.

Looking to capture the program's sixth-straight NCAC Tournament championship on Sunday, the Big Red offense enters the game ranked 16th in the nation at 16.94 goals per game. Denison's attack is led by four players who have tallied 30 or more goals this season, including junior Kiely Noonan and freshman Casey McTague who rank in the top-10 in the conference.

Noonan has posted a team-high 46 goals in 2019 and ranks second on the team with 23 assists and 55 draw controls.  Noonan currently ranks fourth in program history with 168 goals for her career, sitting just three goals behind Cheryl Connolly for third all-time (171). McTague follows with 44 goals while Liza Farnham (37) and Molly Fischer (30) round out DU's top scorers.

Senior Jane Goodspeed anchors the Big Red defense with a team-leading 156 draw controls, 72 ground balls, and 47 caused turnovers. In Thursday's victory over Oberlin, Goodspeed became the program's all-time leader in caused turnovers for a season with 47, passing the prior record of 44 from Molly Landin. Sophomores Charlotte Godfrey and Lindsey Karsh assist Goodspeed on the defensive side as the pair has combined for 51 caused turnovers and 81 ground balls.

Wooster is led by six players who have scored 30 or more goals this season, including the reigning NCAC Newcomer of the Year in Alexa Mellis who ranks third in the NCAC in total points with 53 goals and 24 assists. Megan Healy, a two-time All-NCAC first-team selection, leads the Fighting Scots in draw controls (112), ground balls (79) and caused turnovers (42). Their only blemish of the season came at the hands of the Big Red on April 10th when Denison defeated Wooster 14-6, highlighted by multi-goal performances from Noonan, Maddy Heher, and Hope Adams.

Tickets will be $7 for adults and $3 for children, 18 and under.  Students with a valid ID from an NCAC institution will be admitted free of charge. For those of you that can't attend, the Denison Sports Network will offer a live video broadcast and live stats for the game.

The winner of Sunday's tournament championship will receive an automatic bid into the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament. The tournament bracket will be revealed on Sunday (May 5) evening.
