GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- Denison women's soccer traveled to Greencastle, Ind. on Saturday afternoon where they tied with the DePauw University Tigers by a final score of 1-1 at Reavis Stadium.

Outshooting the Tigers 13-7 for the match and 10-5 during regulation, it was the Big Red who answered in the opening minutes after sophomore Kelly O'Neill scored in the fifth minute of play on an unassisted shot to put DU in front at the start, 1-0.

Despite both sides trading shots over the next seven minutes of action, the Tigers tallied their equalizer at the 15:13 mark when Mallory Dillon sent a pass to Bailey Ehrens who tied the match at 1-1 with her second goal of the season.

Over the final 30 minutes of the first half, the Big Red totaled four of the final six shots of the half, which included shots on goal from Kate Dannemiller and Riley Hammond. Both sides entered the intermission knotted at 1-1.

In the second half, DU came out firing with back-to-back shots from Claire Kolff and Madison Smith in the 49th and 50th minutes, respectively, with Kolff's shot sailing high and Smith's attempt being saved by the keeper.

With less than 11 minutes left in regulation, O'Neill and Smith attempted the final two shots of the half, but neither was able to connect as the match entered overtime with a 1-1 tie.

After DePauw's Alex Berkley took the only shot of the first overtime, she opened the second overtime with the same, but DU's Patil Tcholakian came through with her second save of the match.

Shots from Ariel Loevy and Maggie Armstrong followed in the 105th minute, but Hammond's shot and save at 107:32 was the last of the night as the Big Red earned their second draw of the season to move to 6-2-2, and 1-0-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference.

Along with game-opening goal, O'Neill finished the day with two of her three shots on goal, while Hammond and Madison both added two shots each.

In goal, Tcholakian when to 5-1-2 on the season as she finished with two saves in 110 minutes of work. For DePauw, Mia Manney collected five saves during a full extra time effort.

Denison returns to Barclay-Thomsen Field on Wednesday, Oct. 10 as the Big Red host Oberlin College for a 7:30 p.m. start.
