CLEVELAND, Ohio – Denison women's swimming & diving was recognized by the North Coast Athletic Conference on Monday afternoon as senior All-American KT Kustritz was named the NCAC Swimmer of the Week after leading the No.2 ranked Big Red to a pair of wins over NCAC-rival Kenyon and Xavier this past weekend. This marked her first NCAC weekly honor of the season and the ninth of her career.
Opening the weekend with three event titles and a dominant 195-105 victory over No. 3 Kenyon, Kustritz tallied a pair of 'B' cut times in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.87) and 200 medley relay (1:44.99), winning the latter with Casey Kirby, Maddie Hopkins, and Gabriella Nutter. She also took first overall in the 200 breast at 2:22.85.
In Denison's 154-107 victory over Xavier on Saturday, the St. Paul, Minn. native posted four event titles, highlighted by an NCAA 'B' cut time in the 200 medley relay at 1:44.86. She also won the 100 (1:04.84) and 200 (2:24.98) breaststroke and the 200 free relay at 1:35.80.
A five-time national champion and current record holder in the 100 breaststroke in Division III, Kustritz and the Big Red will return to action on Friday, Nov. 15 when they travel to Columbus, Ohio for a 5 p.m. dual with Ohio State.
