CLEVELAND, Ohio – Junior Maddie Hopkins was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week on Monday after posting four of Denison's top performances this past Friday evening at Ohio State.

In Friday's dual against the D-I Buckeyes, Hopkins tallied DU's top performance with a second-place finish in the 100 butterfly at 57.36. Her final time was also eight-hundredths of the second faster than Ohio State senior Rebekah Bradley. In the 50 free, Hopkins placed fifth overall with a final time of 24.38.

In the relay events, the Chico, Calif. native joined Gabriella Nutter, Casey Kirby, and Michaela Morrison in the 200 free relay to log the third-best time of the night at 1:36.81. Hopkins, Nutter, Kirby, and Kate Mesaros also competed in the 200 medley relay and finished fifth overall after clocking in at 1:46.44.

Hopkins and the No. 2 Big Red return to action Dec. 4-7 when they host the 2019 Denison Invitational at the Trumbull Aquatics Center in Granville.
