Big Red finish 22nd at NCAA Regional

POWELL, Ohio – Denison women's cross country wrapped up their 2017 campaign on Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championship at Liberty Park in Powell, Ohio. The Big Red finished in 22nd place out of 35 teams with 604 points.

Denison was paced by senior Emily Grabauskas who finished in 79th place out of 247 runners with a time of 24:14.5. She was followed by freshman Tommy Solberg who check in at 24:53.0 for a 112th place finish. Emma Riordan ended the 6k race just two seconds behind Solberg with a 24:55.0 in 117th place.

Isabelle Cannon and Sara Lichtenberg rounded out the team scoring for the Big Red, as Cannon's 25:36.2 edged Lichtenberg's 25:36.3 by one-tenth of a second for finishes in 149th and 150th.

Denison's sixth finisher was Phoebe Osterhout in 26:17.7 (175th) and Sarah Radziewicz ended her day in 27:34.9 (205th).

Hope College took home the team championship with 88 points and Oberlin College's Linnea Halsten was the top finisher at 21:37.3.
